No Per Capita Tax Collection for West Deer Residents this Year!

Just a reminder:  The Board of Supervisors voted as part of their 2018 Budget to not collect the $5 per capita tax this year.  The per capita tax is the tax that is charged to most every adult in the Township whether they own their house or not.  It is commonly called “the head tax.”

The per capita bills are normally $15 ($5 for the Township plus $10 for the School District).  The Township approached the School District to see if they would agree to not collect their $10 portion, as well, but Deer Lakes said they were not willing to do so.  Therefore you will still receive a per capita bill from the School District for the $10.

West Deer’s current Board of Supervisors stated they would like to eradicate the per capita tax altogether, so they will continue to reach out to the Deer Lakes School Board in that effort.
